In 2021, Petit Peony founder Kate Bowen was renovating her coastal New England home with interior designer and friend Louisa Smith of . Kate was looking for an elevated, red nautical stripe for her living room overlooking Duxbury Bay. With a love of rich colors, lacquer-painted furniture and accents of rattan, Kate discovered . She was instantly inspired by the bold stripes and block-printed florals for both her home and the Spring Summer '24 designs of her Petit Peony clothing line.
 
Kate and her cousin, Petit Peony President & co-designer Halley Griggs, immediately fell in love with Casa Branca's designs. The duo recolored and altered the Casa Branca Rosa Rigata design to embody the brilliant colors and scale for a children’s clothing collection with the back drop of the Italian coast. (Of course, this inspired a Bowen family trip and collection photo shoot in Positano & Capri, Italy.) Think lemonades by the pool overlooking the sea and boat trips to Capri for lunch at La Fontelina.
