We have recorded that you can get the same grip with a 1oz Grippa as you can with a 2oz Swivel Pear lead. So, with that in mind, you can get away with a smaller lead to do the same job, which is an advantage when fishing for barbel and chub on the rivers. Also, a lighter lead makes a smaller splash so we like using them for casting to gently sloping island margins where a round lead can roll down.
